Yay it's Sadieday! Today I thought I'd show you the adventure I went on all by myself after Daddy left the backyard gate open recently. I'm going to keep Mommy on her leash so she doesn't run off but anyway, let's start off where I did, in the cul-de-sac at the end of our driveway...
Then I proceeded to head down the cul-de-sac just like we do on every other stroll...
When I got to the road, I went left and got on the sidewalk because I won't walk in the busy street...
I made it to the next block when I heard Daddy calling me from back at our street...
I turned around and came back to him and then ran up our cul-de-sac to where Mommy was...
Right here is where she hugged me and kissed me because she was so happy that I can stroll by myself I guess...
So that's what I did when I got out of our backyard. I must say, it was fun exploring by myself but I promised Mommy I won't ever go by myself again.
Hope you enjoyed this recreation of my adventure! If you go out strolling today, make sure you go with a buddy or at least let someone know you're going so no one worries about you!
Have a Happy Sadieday!
Sadie

Sadie, it sounds like you were very well-behaved on your adventure! You did everything you would normally do when you take your human out for a stroll.
See, this is why you have to be careful when you're out with your human, though - when she is outside without her leash, she might freak out! I think having the leash gives her a sense of security.
Enjoyed your recreation of your adventure. You are very smart to not walk in a busy street. Duke says to thank you for the advice on keeping me on a leash when we go out
You were very smart to stay on the sidewalk and not walk in the street. I'm sure your mommy was happy about that too, but mostly happy you came home so quickly unharmed. You give good advice to always walk with a partner. I should share about Abby's adventure off leash sometime--it was very scary for us!
Here's the link to the post Abby wrote about it on her blog:

Well it looks like you had a great adventure Sadie. But you are right. You should always let someone know when you are going some where. People want to make sure you are safe.I am glad your adventure was safe, but I know mommy was scared.
Thanks for sharing your walk today.
Very good advice Sadie! This morning jane & Alice were both wanting to go Out and they agreed to use the buddy system whilst Outside so they'd be safe.
Fur some reason, Mom has some Steppenwolf song worming through her ears -
Thanks fur sharing your freedom trail with us -
It will only reaffirm the reason I keep her leashed!

We bet your mom was very upset that you didn't let her come on your special stroll. We think it is a good idea to not do that again. We are so glad that your know right where to walk and that Daddy found you so quickly.
Happy Sadieday to you too.

I guess Mommy didn't get the memo it was time for a stroll...LOL! I'm glad you were such a good girl and came back when Mommy called for you!
Sadie,
That's very smart of you--never let mommy off her leash! She's safer that way. And make sure she always strolls with you!
Thank Goodness you knew exactly where you were going strolling solo, Sadie! We all would have been heartbroken if you got lost.
We think the buddy systen is a good idea, and keep your Person Securely on the leash. All the time.
Stay safe Sadie ~ always take mommy or daddy wiv yoo.
The neighbor's dog gets out everyday. I hope she knows to stay out of the busy street just like you, Sadie! Good girl.
I know your mommy would be very sad if anything happened to you. It's good you came home safe and sound
I am glad you were heading towards the cul de sac, Sadie. That means it was less likely that you would end up trying to cross a busy intersection.
Fun walk, as usual!
My Mom has a question for your Mommy about her Etsy earrings. Does she ever make them with stainless steel ear hooks instead of silver? Or could she do that custom?
Good girl Sadie for not letting Mom off the leash. It was great to see a rerun of your trip all by yourself. We were sure glad that you came back home. Mom was just overjoyed to see you and that you didn't get hurt. Hope all of you have a good weekend.
Well, at least you used the same path and sidewalks that you always use, Sadie. That was very smart thinking.
I have a dog friend, Junior, who did the same thing one day. His mommeh always took him for a walk by my house and they would stop to talk and I would give Junior a treat.
One day, I saw Junior by my gate all by HIMSELF! Apparently, Junior went for a walk and felt he needed a treat, so I gave him one, hooked him on a leash and walked him home. I'm sure glad Junior thought of coming to my house that day!
Sadie, sounds like you did all the right things on your stroll except take Mommy or Daddy...be careful and remember to always take an adult. Mommy and Daddy would be lost without you!
Well weren't you clever to stay on the sidewalk - but really strolls are much enjoyable when someone else is along!
You ar such a good girl, Sadie. And to take care of your mum by putting her on a leash is a brilliant idea!
What a good girl you are Sadie. We would all be very sad if you were lost! Happy Sadieday! Love, Moon
It's always good to have a buddy go with you!
Our woofie brother Cubby got out our back gate a week ago. Daddy had to go chase him until Cubby ran up to a lady down the street. Please don't go out by yourself.

glad you had a fun stroll sadie. that red leash goes so well with your coat. i love red!!
Sadie - you're lucky it was mommy that hugged you! Remember, there are dognappers out there, and you're so cute! From a concerned mommy, {:-Deb
That was quite an adventure you had. You are very smart to have stayed on the sidewalk and I am very glad you made it back safely.
Sorry that I'm late in dropping by, but it was a very hectic week.
We are glad your adventure was a safe one...our Teri's heart gets in her throat when she thinks one of us might have escaped!
