Waiting for Naked Trees

Because of our weird weather this year where it was way too hot and way too dry, the trees are all on different schedules when it comes to losing their leaves. Some are nearly naked, some are just now starting to lose their leaves. Every day I watch more and more leaves turn yellow and flutter to the ground...
It's a lot of fun watching the leaves fall knowing that the trees will soon be naked making the birdies easier to see! Since Daddy has to pick up the leaves, I'm pretty sure he doesn't feel the same way...
He's going to be busy this weekend!

Are your trees naked yet?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Angel

PeeS: Isabella thanks everyone for their concern and purrs regarding her dental issues. Her blood work came back 'perfect' so we're just waiting to hear from the dental specialist to call to find out the next step. We'll keep you posted!

Typically in our area the leaves stay on for a long time, then turn brown almost overnight and simply fall off! It hasn't happened in our garden yet, though!

Our trees are not naked yet...but probably will be soon! We are sorry to hear about Isabella's dental issues! Very glad to hear that the blood work came out clean though. Enjoy your leaf watching Angel!

We don't get too many naked trees here in Southern California - it does get pretty brown around here, though! But maybe not this year, with an El Nino and wet weather predicted.

We get sad when we see the trees getting naked. We wish the fall colors lasted MUCH longer. So glad that bloodwork came back purrfect! Good news! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody

A lot of our trees never get naked. The trees that have changed color are the ones losing leaves.

Things are different here too... but it's kind of like the leaves are lasting longer, and I'm enjoying the stretch of it...

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Well of COURSE Isabella's blood is perfect! SHE is perfect! Silly vet!
Aren't falling leaves great?!?! Not only is it fun to watch them, but it's fun pouncing on them, eating them, crunching them, and snoofing through all of them! What a great time of year!
Yours sincerely,
Mags

Our leaves turn color one day and almost all fell to the ground the next day. Mom says it must be because it has been so dry. We will be happy to be able to spot those tree rats when the trees are bare:). Have a good weekend. Great news on the blood report.

Our trees are almost naked, I wish they would keep their bright colors for the winter.

Maybe your dad will bring you some leaves to play with. :-)

We have a mix too, some smaller trees are looking mostly bare, others are still looking predominantly green, with colour not full yet. We had frost last weekend, so maybe that sped things along.

I went back to read about Isabella's dental issues. Poor sweetie. Absolutely better to have them out now. Nicki had 8 removed when he was only three; Derry lost 9 when 3 years old, then had 2 more removed last March. I'm pretty sure he'll end up toothless at some point. The boys will send Isabella purrs and keep their paws crossed for her, and I will send Universal Light.

It's funny the tree leaves are all at different stages! The leaves are decidedly still on trees around here....shocker.

Our trees are still fully clothed, although some have put on yellow dresses!
Angel, it looks to me like you've seen some critter running around in those leaves! Tell Isabella I'm glad she's doing OK and to keep her furry chin up!

Our trees are only just starting to turn! But one big storm and they will all be gone I reckon! It looks so pretty, though xxx

We don't really lose leaves here in Florida. (But we will continue to sweat for you.)
Live oak leaves don't count b/c they don't change color and they don't degrade, it's maddening!
Leaves changing and the smell of autumn leaves on the ground is something I miss dearly about a colder climate. I do not miss getting snowed in. Take a breath of that crisp autumn air for me!
