I always try and help out around the house by picking up crumbs or begging for helping eat the last bit of foods. I do such a good job that Mommy has promoted me to cleaning empty peanut butter containers before they go in the recycling bin.
I take my job very seriously!
It requires a lot of concentration and skill to reach all of the peanut butter.
I think this one is about ready to be made into another peanut butter container! Fill er' up!
Bring on the next one Mommy!
What jobs do you have around your house?
Sadie

Good Heavens! You're right! But unfortunately cats are picky eaters. The only time we help out is when cat food pellets spill on the floor or milk or cream... or maybe a piece of shrimp...

What a great job you did, Sadie! I wonder if Abby would like to do that too? I give her a little peanut butter in her Kong that she seems to like.

You're doing a wonderful job, Sadie!

Deli is our 'vacuum' here. She loves all sorts of leftovers, so almost anything that drops, she'll eat!

Have fun!

We get to lick out some of the containers before they go to recycle too - it's a big job but somebody has to do it, right Sadie?

That's what I miss about not having a dog--we need a crumb cleaner. The cats never seem to be as helpful as dogs.

That's so funny Sadie! But it's super that you're helping to get the recycling ready. We give you two 'green' paws up.

Sadie you're such a good employee -- I gets gold stars too for cleaning out yogurt containers, I think you might be better than me if you can reach all the way to the bottom of that PB jar. You're going to have to give me some tips -- Lena

Good thing you've got a long snout...poor Harley would only get the top 1/3 of the jar...LOL :)

That reminds me of my DH and the PB jar!

The OP Pack said... October 1, 2009 at 7:29 AM

We think we see a tiny bit left at the bottom in that last pic - do you need us to come help you get it out? Why is it that the tongue never seems quite long enough?

woos, the OP Pack

Pee Ess, our job is to clean the floor around the little bipeds so Mom doesn't have to vacuum so much.

LOL! What a great helper you are!
My cats "help" by hiding their toys and sometimes ours! to make sure we get plenty of exercise fishing them out. They also help by sitting on things like boxes to give us their stamp of approval.

What a great idea! I never thought of giving Aggie the jars. Of course I will have to watch her because I'm thinking she will chew the plastic. That will keep her occupied and happy for a while. Thanks

Ozzbourne gets to act like a vacuum. It keeps me from breaking out the real one or picking up food spills I've made. All my dogs have always got this job. Great job Sadie. I don't think you missed a spot.

Oh how puppy dogs love peanut butter! Sadie did a great job cleaning out that jar and helping with the environment! My cat, Kenzie, helps a bit. I use recycled plastic bags for cleaning her poop out of her litter box! LOL! Does that count?

GREAT work, Sadie! I help load the dishwasher - and make sure everything is Sibe-clean before Mom shuts the door. I also help make beds and pretty much supervise everything else that goes on around here.

It is good in this economy that you have a job. Congratulations. I don't know of any dog who could do a better job. Just don't get your snout stuck in the jar. The publicist's great dane did that once and it was a challenge getting it out....

Aww what a great worker you are Sadie. At my house, Duke's job is to disect all the tennis balls to make sure there are no dangerous parts inside.

What a clever idea - cleaning a peanut butter container before putting it in the recycle bin is such a PITA I just toss it in the regular trash. Maybe I need to get a woofie

Cinnamon Girl aka Reeni♥ said... October 1, 2009 at 6:49 PM

Your such a good helper! And you look like your having so much fun! I help my Mom cook! I help her get the pans out of the cabinet and the food out of the fridge. The best part is the taste-testing! Bye Sadie. Love, Moon

katztales said... October 1, 2009 at 7:19 PM

You're a great dog - and very eco-sensitive too with your reuse and recycle peanut butter jars. Are you also helping clean jam, beef stew and other interesting jars?

Mishkat said... October 1, 2009 at 7:46 PM

Sadie, we need you around our house! The cats (Tasha is the worst offender) won't clean the last bit of kibble out of their dishes or help pick up cat food that falls on the floor. We know you'd be a big help with that!

The Island Cats said... October 1, 2009 at 8:24 PM

Wow, Sadie! We are impressed with how clean you got that peanut butter jar!!!
