Irresistible!

Every day while I enjoy a nice refreshing drink from the sink...
Mommy does her best not to disturb me but my floofy tail is oh so tempting...
She does manage to wait until I finish but then her fingers are all over my floofyness.   I can hardly blame her, I am pretty irresistible!

Hope you have an irresistible day!

Tortie Tuesday

This is our 2,200th post! We started blogging back in 2008 so to celebrate our milestone and all those years of Tortieness, here's my Tortie Tuesday post from 6 years ago today...
 *******************************************************
It's Tortie Tuesday again and today's lesson is that when you cover your eyes to nap, don't cover your Tortie nose!
Thank you to everyone who visits our blog especially those that have been visiting us since close to the beginning! Some days it's tough finding what we want to say but your friendship and support keeps us going!   We appreciate you!

Wishing you a Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Finally Friday

Boy are we glad it's Friday!  We pulled overtime Tuesday holding Mommy down then we did taxes all day Wednesday.  Yesterday Mommy thought she was better so went to exercise class but came home feeling crabby sick again so we had to help with taxes AND hold her down all in one day.  To top it off, I'm not sure about our new office chair.  I'm able to walk off of the desk onto the arms of the chair, wait for Mommy to move forward and  then take my place.  Problem is, it's just not the same so I had to get up and start the whole process again and again and, well, you get the idea.  Mommy decided to just let me try out the new chair all by myself...
I put it through thorough testing...
Conclusion:  I need to work on breaking it in more...
It's a tough job being such a hard worker but somekitty's got to do it!

Hope you don't have to work hard today!

So Close...

We've had a dose of spring weather here which means sunpuddles and open windows...
SomeTortie is as close as she can get from being outside...
If that screen wasn't there, she'd be hanging out!
Clearly that's the reason Mommy triple checks how secure the screens are all the time.  Well, that and she's a worry wart.

Are you experiencing a dose of spring or more winter in your neck of the woods?
Angel

P.S. Mommy can't tackle her lingering cough so isn't feeling well again.  We're sorry if our comments are lagging but the doctor gave her cough medicine with the good stuff in it so we're holding her down while she gets some rest.

Tortie Tuesday

All I ever want is for a peaceful Tortie Tuesday...
But my little sisfur never reads the memo so I know something is going to happen...
Hey!  You whacked my Tortie tushy!
Now what do you think you're doing?
Uh, yeah, you can't get UNDER the paper because I'm ON it...
Are you finally leaving?
See what I have to put up with?
It's a tough job being her big sisfur but someTortie has to do it!

Do you have a pesky furbling?

Hope you have an uninterrupted Tortie Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap Up

Our Valentines weekend was sunny and warm (60s) so we got sunpuddles and window whiffs!  Yay! We're also starting the week off with a brand new work chair that we got last week but Daddy finally put together yesterday.  That's okay, the box made a perfect perch to survey my domain...
It was also the perfect height for me to bat at the blinds string...
And bite it too...
Of course I did all this while watching Birdie TV...
The string goes a long way down on the side of the box...
But it can't get away from me!
Ugh!  Slippery little sucker...
Hopefully the chair will have better results than me with the string.  It has extra cushioning at the edge where Mommy sits (I get the back half of the seat) so hopefully she quits whining about numb butt.  I'll be sure she tests the cushion out many times!

How was your weekend?

Hope your tushy is comfy today!

Friday the 13th

It's Friday the 13th which to some people is a day filled with superstitions.  We don't believe in superstitions especially the one about black cats being unlucky.  The cat before us was a beautiful black kitty named Panther...
Panther was very special to Mommy especially since she was orphaned as a teeny tiny baby and had to be bottle fed.  Panther lived to be 18 years old and went to the Bridge a day after Mommy's birthday in 2006.  Mommy was devastated and couldn't even see another kitty without her eyes getting leaky until we came into her life two months later.  As Mommy was figuring out my name, she looked down on me sitting on her lap and knew what my name would be...
See the black marks on my ears?  She thought I was touched by an angel named Panther and she left black angel wings on my ears.  As I grew bigger my wings have grown too...
So, see, black kitties are very lucky!  We have a very special one to thank for helping us find our furever home!

Has a black kitty brought luck to your life?

We hope you have a very lucky day!

Too Cute?

It's no secret Mommy thinks I'm so cute she can hardly stand it.  Who can blame her though.  I am pretty darn cute!  Anyway, she takes pictures of me all the time but lately she shuts off the sound on her phone so I don't hear her taking those pictures.  The other day when I was sitting on her lap she went gaga over my crossed paws...
She was taking silent photos while I was in my paws crossed biscuit making trance...
But she scairt the bejeebers out of me!
She felt bad for scaring me but seriously, I realize I'm cute but cool it with the pictures please!  Sheesh!

Is there no escape from cameras these days?

Hope you have a pawparazzi free day!

Tortie Tuesday

*rub, rub, rub*
Hey, you scairt me!  Don't sneak up on me like that!
Okay, Tortie Tuesday confession time.  I was caught red-pawed rubbing my face against Daddy's shoes.  I admit, I love to do that.  I can't explain it.  I only rub my face on the outside of his work shoes and I just can't stop myself from doing it.  Guess even Torties need a vice and mine happens to be Daddy's shoes.  What can I say?

What do you do that is out of the ordinary?

Hope you enjoy your Tortie Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a rainy weekend so it would've been nice to nap the days away but we're working kitties so are always on call.  Isabella was in charge of helping Daddy make a journal for Mommy's shop...
I got the exciting job of helping Mommy with her Quickbooks ProAdvisor certification stuff. I pulled double duty and watched for birdies at the same time...
But it went on for hours so I took that time to do some deep thinking about other projects on our agenda...
I've learned to multi-task very well!  It's a tough job but somekitty's got to do it!

How was your weekend?

Hope you enjoy your Monday!

Sadieday Smile

Our sisfur Sadie was always happy especially when she went on strolls...
We think even her eyes are smiling...
Did she make you smile too?

We hope whatever you do this weekend makes your heart happy and your eyes show it!

Happy Sadieday and have a great weekend!

Update on my Kitty Asthma

We interrupt this rainy day Tortie nap for a rather lengthy update...
As a recap, four months ago we went to a new vet (Dr. T) because our old vet (Dr. H) was dealing with kitty asthma by just giving me prednisolone.  Since it's not good for my svelte figure or my health to be on that medication over time, Dr. T put me on the inhaler Flovent 110mcg once a day.  It worked to cut my 5-6 severe asthma attacks a day down to 1 or 2 mild attacks.  It also made me more alert which is something I'm still getting used to...
Anyway, Mommy has been talking to Nicki from Fuzzy Tales' mom since he's also on an inhaler.  She told us that 110mcg is the minimum here in the US and since I am still having attacks, I could have that upped to 220mcg.  When I needed a new inhaler, Daddy called Dr. T* and asked for a higher dose but instead she wanted to put me on an antibiotic, a wormer and hairball medicine* - all decided without even seeing me or doing any tests!  Daddy let her know in no uncertain terms what he thought of her using me as an experiment!  He then called Dr. H again and talked to her.  He relayed what we'd learned from Nicki's mom and Dr. H researched more before my appointment this week.  She saw my x-ray and test results and agreed that Dr. T had no basis to put me on the antibiotic, wormer or hairball stuff* but she also wouldn't increase my dosage to 220mcg.  She wants me to have 110mcg twice a day instead of once for a total of at least 7 breaths.  She was surprised when Daddy told her that I take 25 breaths because I fall asleep during my treatment!  Hopefully twice a day treatment will help me finally stop having attacks.  The prescription now costs $200.36 for 60 days worth but I'm worth it!  It's been frustrating for Mommy and Daddy and I certainly don't like having attacks even if they aren't as severe or long lasting.  I do sorta kinda like being awake more and I do enjoy playing with my sisfur Angel.  She's a lot faster than me but I'm a master at the sneak attack!
We all have to be proactive about what's going on with us because as we're finding out firstpaw, even vets don't know about everything!

Hope you have a healthy day!
Isabella

Notes from Mommy:
*Isabella has never had a hairball and the now old new vet (Dr. T) couldn't believe that.  The now new again old vet (Dr. H) has a 7 year old kitty who's never had a hairball either so she believes us.
*I don't do well with vets which is why Isabella's Daddy took care of all this.  I did go to her appointment with Dr. T because I had no experience in that place.  I cannot go back to see Dr. H because that's where my cat Panther and also Sadie went to the Bridge.  I start crying in the parking lot so I'm useless there.
*Despite being off prednisolone, being much more active and not eating a lot, Isabella lost no weight.  Once we get the asthma taken care of we'll figure out if something is causing her to not lose weight.
