Sadieday Lesson

It was three years ago this week when Sadie taught us a lesson but we didn't get it until now.  She got a spiffy new feeder but of course she was quite used to and comfortable with her old one...
Even when it was pointed that the new feeder was so much better, she wasn't sure she wanted to leave her old one...
But then she tried it and discovered it had all of the same foods but in a much better package...
So what was the lesson we finally learned?  That although it can be very hard to leave something we've grown very comfortable with, sometimes change is most definitely for the better.

We've just finished the first month of tax season and Mommy has not had one stressful day yet.  After she made the decision last year to leave an environment that made her miserable, every day has been a joy.  Oh sure there's the normal messy books and workpapers brought in by clients but what's different is no negativity or disrespect which was abundant before.  So, she left her comfort zone for something that has all the same tax stuff but in a much better package!   If there's something in your life that is bringing you down, make this the year for change.  We know it's hard but we also know it's well worth it!

One thing that can change the day for you and others around you is to smile!  A smile can do wonders so spread them around often!

Have a Happy Sadieday and a great weekend!

That is a great lesson - and both my human and I very often leave our comfort zones! In fact, my human equates comfort with boring!

That's a good lesson to learn, though hard for some. Our human finds change very difficult -- the older she gets, the more settled into her comfort zone. And sometimes, realistically, humans can't leave their jobs or move, but they always can be conscious of changing their attitude and practicing gratitude and acceptance and kindness--and making a effort to smile more! :-)

change isn't always easy. This is a great lesson though. Happy Sadieday

Very true, glad your mom is now enjoying her job. I had a job long ago where the co-workers, atmosphere and flex time were great, but didn't like the job itself, was frustrated by the policies because felt it was unfair to the clients. Was there for 8 years and felt so relieved when I quit.

Thanks Sadie for teaching us that lesson. But we also think that smiling at people or a bunch of cats etc. can make you feel really good too. So keep smiling.

I am so happy for you that this new job is turning out to be the right move! I feel the same about mine ... too much travel, but I like the people and the work. So much less stress - and that makes a huge difference!

Glad things are going so well for your Mommy. And we really like that feeding station. We have one too, but it is old and messy - maybe we need to find one like that one.

Have a good weekend.

You and I have already discussed this, I know...but it is very hard to make changes sometimes. I'm soooo glad that you did and it worked out so nicely.

I made a little change at work and it is working so far. I am far away from a jerky boss and now I have a private office. I think this is a nice compromise until I decide if I want to stay here or not.

Mommy is SO totally happy for your Mom...she and Daddy made a huge change when they moved (and changed jobs) and it was the best thing, ever. It's so nice to enjoy your occupation...like Purrfessional Napper!

Great advice! It can be so hard to make changes, even when you're leaving something misery-inducing behind.

What a thoughtful post. We all need to be reminded occasionally that we are the masters of our own fate and happiness. So glad to hear that Mom Sharla is enjoying a much happier life! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
