Birthday Celebration!

Today is our Mommy's squizillion and sixth birthday!
Of course she's WAY older than she was back then but she was already on her way to becoming a CPA (the accountant kind)...
We're making sure she takes a day off from being an accountant for the next five days...
That'll leave her plenty of time to be the other kind of CPA (cat's personal assistant kind)!

We're going to enjoy a long weekend filled with frosting, treats, scritches, toys and cuddles so we'll be back on Tuesday!

We hope you have some treats today too!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

PeeS:  Please be sure to visit Sparkle's online memorial tomorrow, August 29th, and leave a comment in the commenthon to benefit Tabby's Place!

Tortie Tuesday

Happy Tortie Tuesday!  I decided to mix it up today and instead of indulging in a nap or six, I'm going to show you one of my patented Tortie techniques of stalking.  The key is to become one with the floor so if I decided to pounce on my little sisfur as she walked by, she'd have absolutely no idea what was happening...
I'm going to let her get away without being pounced on today but as you can see, she walked right on by because she didn't even see me behind the box...
That, my friends, is a patented Tortie technique!  Now remember, I'm a purrfessional Tortie so I make this move look way easier than it is so be careful if you try this at home!

Hope you have a wonderful Tortie Tuesday!

Our So-Called Writing Process

We were tagged by our fellow Oregonian and Etsy friend Linda from the blog Abigail's Attic to write about, well, our writing process.  Linda blogs about her crafty goodies and her very large family (10 kids, 27 grandkids!) who she enjoys very much and it comes through in her writing!  She also makes lots and lots of aprons that are sold at Bob's Red Mill in Milwaukee, OR!

Linda asked us to answer the following questions so we'll do our best!

1.  What are we working on/writing?

We're actually very hard working kitties in that we help Mommy when she's being the accountant kind of CPA working on tax returns, we are designers and snoopervisors when she makes beady goodies and we are purrfessional couch holder downers.  As far as our writing, Mommy actually quit her job as of June 30th for several reasons one being to have more time to pursue her dream of writing a book.  Well, since she quit she's still working part time for her old job (dang tax deadlines and no one else to do her work) and also doing another job for a CPA friend so there's less time than ever for her to write a book.  So, the only writing we do is for this blog.

2.  How does our work/writing differ from others of its genre?

Since our genre is kitties, we know other kitties are doing the same as we do but in a different way of course.  We all love to play, nap, eat, etc. so we guess what makes us different is our purrsonalities.  Also, it appears that someTortie here has broken all of the Tortie stereotypes by being the total opposite of what is expected.  She's extremely mellow, cuddly, laid back, never angry, not scared of doorbells or delivery trucks and will lay on anyone who will let her.  That makes us really different!

3.  Why do we write what we do?

We are very happy kitties and love our lives especially since we have our Mommy and Daddy so trained to cater to our every need.  We write because we want to spread a little happiness to others by sharing a glimpse of how we spend our days.  Honestly, we almost quit blogging after our sisfur Sadie went to the Bridge two years ago because she was always going on fun adventures and with us being indoor kitties, we don't go on any adventure.  But we remembered her desire to spread smiles so we stepped up to the plate and found adventures inside to share with our readers in hopes of continuing to spread smiles!  That's why we write what we do!

4.  How does our writing process work?

Our writing process consists of Mommy following us around with the flashy beast and writing what we dictate.  For the most part she does a pretty good job of interpreting what we are saying but any references to being lazy or less than svelte are obviously stuff she slipped in without our knowledge.  She can often tell when we're about ready to act out a blog post so she keeps that flashy beast close by in order to capture the photos to go with our story.  Daddy can tell when we're doing something that should be a blog post but since he has no clue what we're saying, he'll call for Mommy to come in to see us.  We try to give her enough material so she can schedule posts a few days ahead but often she's sitting here in a panic the night before trying to transcribe for us.  We've been letting her off the hook though and if she just can't get it done, we tell her not to stress about it and we just have a no post day.  Blogging should be fun, not stressful right?

Anyway, that's a glimpse into how our posts come about.  If you haven't been tagged in this type of post and would like to participate, consider yourself tagged!  One group we'd love to hear how their process works is the Island Cats!  Wally, Ernie and Zoey are so funny and never fail to make us giggle so we'd like to hear their process!  Plus, our mommy met the lady with the yellow hair at BlogPaws and we hear she's the sweetest ever!

We hope you enjoy whatever your working on/writing today!

We Need a Smile on Sadieday!

After a couple of days of sadness we are in desperate need of a smile.   Our sisfur Sadie's smile is just what we need to help us smile too...
We're smiling, how about you?

When we're feeling down, a smile can pick us up and it does the same for others so spread some smiles around this Sadieday!

Have a Happy Sadieday and a wonderful weekend!

Goodbye Sparkle

Oh how we dread writing this post because we have so much we'd like to say about our dear friend Sparkle but there's no words to say it all.
Since learning of her passing yesterday, our mommy's eyes have been leaky.  Sparkle was one of our first friends we met when we starting blogging.  She was not only beautiful but also witty, wise, inspiring, and we always looked forward to her comments every day as she was usually the first to visit us.  Our mommy met her human Janiss at BlogPaws and she is also beautiful inside and out so our hearts are with her during this time.

Now that Mommy can't see through her tears, we're just going to say:  Goodbye Sparkle.  We're going to miss you terribly but we're so very grateful to have known you.  Much love and hugs to your human too.

Purrs,
Angel, Isabella and mom Sharla

Tips to Thwart Travel

We're a week away from the last holiday weekend of summer and we realized some of our beans might be planning a getaway.  Well, we've figured out a way to put our paws down in a subtle way to avoid any unnecessary trips away from home.  First thing is to look displeased when the box with wheels comes out...
Secondly, recruit some help if you can...
This comes in very handy if there's two boxes with wheels - one can look distracted, the other can look disinterested...
At least you get your bath out of the way...
If that fails, attack the box with wheels...
Don't be afraid to go crazypants on it either...
I'm gonna bunny kick you into oblivion you box with wheels!
If that doesn't work, cozy up inside and refuse to come out...
That should do it because seriously, where could somebean go that's better than staying home with us kitties?  Yep, that's right, no where!  That's exactly why our Mommy and Daddy aren't going anywhere for the upcoming holiday weekend and we hope these tips prevent your beans from going anywhere either!

Do you have any additional tips to thwart travel?

Hope you have a great day!

Tortie Tuesday

As we said yesterday, Chewy.com has yummy treats but they also have the bestest Tortie-sized boxes...
What's that Mommy?  I can't keep this box? What's up with that?
Apparently somemommy has a problem with a squizillion boxes around the house and says they gotta go. Maybe if I pour on the Tortie charm and cute looks I can keep some of them...
I happen to think the pepper one would be perfect in the kitchen.  Don't you?

Do you have boxes all over your house too?

Hope you have a Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Working Weekend

Awhile ago we received a delivery from Chewy.com and this weekend we finally got to open it.  Inside was a bag of Blue Wilderness Chicken and Salmon treats!
If we'd had known these were in the box, we would've made Mommy open it sooner!  They were yummy...
These Blue Wilderness Chicken and Salmon treats are a soft and chewy treat that are:
  • Grain free
  • Great for kitties with sensitive tummies
  • Have rosemary to freshen breath and reduce allergies
  • Naturally preserved and made in the USA
The only thing that concerned Mommy was the size of the treats because Isabella doesn't chew her food, she swallows it hole.  The solution was she tore them into smaller pieces for her...
She liked them too!
Hey Angel, you have your own pile of treats - stay away from mine!
The only bad thing about these treats is you gotta keep them away from pain in the patooty little sisfurs!
Anyway, we both give the Blue Wilderness Chicken and Salmon treats eight paws up!

These treats are on sale at Chewy.com too so you can stock up!  If you haven't purchased from Chewy.com before, give them a try!  They have lots of foods, treats, toys and even kitty litter to choose from plus they have excellent customer service and free shipping on orders over $49!

Did you have a wild weekend?

Hope you get lots of treats to start your week!
Angel and Isabella

Disclaimer:  We received one bag of Blue Wilderness treats for free from Chewy.com.  This did not influence our review in any way because we like what we like so our opinions are totally our own.

Reflection on Sadieday

Sometimes we see something one way...
But that way can change before we know it...
Although things aren't always as they appear, seeing a smile can certainly change someone's day.

We hope you spread a smile or two to others this weekend!  They'll feel better and you will too!

Have a Happy Sadieday and a wonderful weekend!

Finally Friday!

This has been a long week with Mommy working her two part-time jobs while neglecting her CPA (Cat's Purrsonal Assistant) job.  We also had a noisy stranger here putting in a hot water heater, as if we need that, and he set off the smoke alarm making him one of the noisiest strangers ever!  Anyway, we're glad the weekend is here and the temps are lower which means a lot of watching the Birdie Network...
And a lot of resting up for a weekend full of relaxing...
Yeah, okay, we do those things every day so guess what makes weekends better is that Mommy and Daddy's full attention is on us!

What makes weekends better for you?

Happy Friday!

Yep, we're snuggle buddies...
Do you like to snuggle too?

Have a snuggly day!

Tortie Tuesday

Because she was 'raised' by our sisfur Sadie, my little sisfur Angel goes running downstairs to greet Mommy and Daddy whenever they come home usually meowing all the way.  She then proceeds to rub against everything in the hallway including Mommy who pets her all over.  Well, I go downstairs too but I prefer the Tortie greeting from the guest bed...
Believe it or not, they come to ME to pet me too.  Angel could learn a thing or two from this Tortie!

Do you greet your humans when they come home?

Hope you get lots of scritches today!

Re-run, Sort Of

Since we had a busy weekend celebrating Mommy and Daddy's anniversary, then helping with beady goodies and other important cat stuff, we ran out of time to do a post for today.  Because of that we're going to show you our guest post that was on Pricilla's publicist's blog last month.  If you saw it there, it's a re-run, but either way, we hope you enjoy it!
*****************************************
As you all know, Harry the Farm Cat is a mighty hunter but we wanted everyone to know that us House Cats are mighty hunters too!
Well, okay, some more than others are...
Isabella may not have that killer instinct but I sure do.  I am really good at stalking mousies...
What are you doing Bella?  No, I don't have mouse breath yet!  Give me a chance to deaded it first!
Now where was I?  Oh yeah, after I stalk the mousie,  I pounce when it leasts expect it...
Yeah, that's right Mr. Mousie!  You run and hide from me - Angel the Mighty Hunter!
Unlike the mousies on the farm, this one lives to be deaded another day...
Unless I decide to put the ole furry karate chop on it!
HIIII-YAA!
Take that Mr. Mousie!
Never underestimate the hunting abilities of us House Cats!

I bet even Harry the Farm Cat is impressed with my skills!  Don't you?

We hope you have a mousie filled day!

Anniversary Celebration!

Today is our Mommy and Daddy's 26th Anniversary!
They were married on 8-8-88 which is a lot of 8's so it must have been a very long time ago...
Since they're going to be celebrating at the coast or hiking or whatever they decide to do, we're going to take another long weekend so we can celebrate doing whatever we want to do too!  We hope everyone has something to celebrate this weekend even if it's a sunny new day!

Happy 26th Anniversary to our Mommy and Daddy!
Angel and Isabella

Happy World Cat Day too!

Quiet Please!

Nothing disturbs a perfectly good nap like the loud sucky monster...
That thing better not get any closer...
It's even upsetting Isabella.  Can't you tell...
Yeah, I know, it's behind me....
But if it makes one peep, I'm outta here!

Hope you don't have a sucky day!
Angel
