It'll Always Be Sadieday

We'll always think of this day as Sadieday.  We just wish Sadie was actually with us today but we know she is in spirit.  We are still receiving thoughts and prayers and we want everybuddy to know how much we appreciate them.  We also received a very special gift from our friend Edi from Memories for Life.  She surprised us with this lovely ornament of our sweet Sadie...
When Mommy opened it she looked at Sadie's beawootiful smile and her eyes starting leaking right away.  Daddy saw the back side so he told Mommy to turn it around which of course really opened the flood gates...
We're all very thankful for Edi sending such a precious gift.  She even thought of us by including a ribbon...
We wish we could change things and that Sadie was here with us but since we can't, we're grateful for the support we've received from so many around the world.  Thanks so much to Edi too.  We will cherish this gift forever!

Be sure to get out on a stroll and find something to smile about today and every Sadieday!
Have a good weekend!

Friday Features

Welcome to Friday Features! As you know, this past week has been horrible but we're slowly trying to adapt to life without Sadie. It's so not easy when she was such a huge part of everything we did so I keep looking for her or listening for her since she was my shadow and followed me everywhere. I haven't felt crafty but I did make one pair of earrings. When it was time to take photos of them outside, I used to just say in a normal tone "I have to go take pictures" and she understood and knew to go to the sliding glass door so she could come outside with me to snoopervise. It was not the same without her. Today's features include my new earrings along with other items to help remember our pets. I hope you enjoy my picks.

Just Kidding...Maybe

Angel, you can't keep hogging the ESS.  I'm going to lay here and stare at you until you get your floofy booty off because if you don't...
BELLA!
What?  Don't sneak up on me like that Mommy!  I wouldn't really do anything to my little sisfur...
*whispers*
At least not in front of you!

Hope no one spies on you today!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday so I want impart my advice regarding the take your own shopping bag things.  It is nice to help the environment but when you bring them home from the store, be sure to put them somewhere safe after you unload them because the straps can provide a danger...

My mommy nearly fell down the stairs from laughing at my demonstration of how the straps can get wrapped around your ears.   (I'd like to point out that because Mommy was laughing too hard, Daddy helped me get out of the bag - I'm a Daddy's Girl!)  Anyway, to keep you and your beans safe, please put the bags with straps away between uses!

It was nice to have some much needed comic relief around here though courtesy of yours truly.

Hope you have a safe and Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Memories of my Sisfur

We're overwhelmed with all the support we've received after our sisfur Sadie's journey to the Rainbow Bridge.  Thank you to everybuddy who's left comments or sent us emails and kept us in your thoughts.  We're so glad that Sadie was able to share her sweet spirit with everybuddy through our blog. She really was a special girl and she was a very good woofie sisfur and also my buddy.  Isabella would just sit next to her and stare at her or sniff her feet which drove her bonkers but she and I got along really well although on the first day I became her sisfur, she was a little unsure of me...

I won her over in just two days though...

Sadie and I had a little competition about who could go upstairs the fastest.  If I headed for the stairs, she always tried to beat me and if she made the first move towards the stairs, I tried to beat her.  Let's just say that sometimes I let her win but not very often!  Most of the time we would hang out together looking out the windows.  I was looking for birdies and she was on the lookout for introoder neighbor cats...

Since she's crossed the bridge, I'll go to the window and look around for her to come up beside me but then I remember that she's now in my heart so is always with me whether I'm looking out the window or racing up the stairs.  I miss having her here and am spending a lot of time in Mommy's arms since we both need comforting.   I couldn't have asked for a better woofie sisfur and although my time with her was too short, I'm grateful to have spent so many happy times with her.

Hope you make some happy memories today,
Angel

Saying Goodbye

Live each day with joy.
Tell those you love how you feel.
Experience all that makes you happy like running on a beach, hiking a forest trail or strolling through you neighborhood.
And always wear a smile on your face because that smile will be returned by all that you meet.

Sadie let us know it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.  We need time to deal with the sadness and heartbreak but wanted to let her friends know.  Sadie was always happy so wouldn't want us to be sad so do something this Sadieday to make someone smile in her honor.

Thanks again for all the words of love and support.  She knew how loved she was and we hope you know how loved you are too.

Goodbye baby girl.

Thankful Thursday

Hello everybuddy!  I just wanted to check in to let you know that I'm doing alright.  I have my moments (okay, a lot of moments!) when all I want to do is sleep and I'm still not eating much but I still go outside to guard the yard from neighbor cats...
Coast is clear so time to go back inside for another nap...
I want to thank everybuddy who's commented, emailed or asked about me on Facebook.  There's no way to say how much your words of support means to me and my family.  My mommy is still having a tough time with this so she's very grateful for the thoughts and prayers too.   I know she's scared but I'll be okay.  Both Mommy and Daddy have been spending lots of time with me and I've got more kisses than I can count.  We never know what tomorrow will bring so be sure to enjoy every moment of today!

Lots of woos, love and gratitude,
Sadie

Positive Thoughts Needed

We received some news today that we weren't ready for and are having a hard time dealing with.  The radiologist told the vet that the initial report we got after my ultrasound yesterday was wrong and I have cancer on my liver and spleen.  This news has devastated my Mommy and Daddy but I'm trying to stay positive for them and of course I always put on my cute face for them...

Truth is, we're all very worried and Mommy isn't dealing with this well so I told her we need to take a blog break for awhile so she can spend extra time with me.  We had wanted to personally comment on everybuddy's blog who's taken the time to send me well wishes and prayers but please know we appreciate all of you and have read them all (even if through blurry, leaky eyes).

Be sure and hug somebuddy you love since we never know what tomorrow brings!
(Some of my sisfur Isabella's Tortie wisdom must be rubbing off on me.)

Thanks again for all the love and support everybuddy has given me and my family!
Sadie

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday and also International Box Day!  What a purrfect combination!  I love all boxes!  Is there a better invention than boxes?  This box is sort of hammick-y since it holds up my Tortie tush...

It's just the right size and everything...

Whaddya mean my Tortie tush is supposed to fit INSIDE the box?

I think I fit just fine...

It's a good thing that beans don't understand the appeal of boxes or else they'd be sticking their tushies in boxes all over the place and isn't that a scary thought?

Hope you get to enjoy a box today!

Happy Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

PeeS:  Thanks again for the crossed paws and purrs for my sisfur Sadie!  It means a lot to all of us!  In case you didn't see it, here's her latest update.

Update on Sadie

First of all, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everybuddy for the well wishes, crossed paws and purrs for Sadie.  We can't thank you enough for keeping her in your thoughts and we appreciate all of you!

Although Sadie is still at the vet's, we wanted to update everybuddy on what they found out today which is basically that she's a mystery.  The ultrasound showed that she has old lady kidneys but it didn't indicate kidney failure so there's no explanation for why her kidney enzymes are sky high.  There's no sign of cancer or anything like that either.  There was a spot on her spleen and something else, which we forgot what Daddy said, that confirms the Cushings disease diagnosis but doesn't explain why she is feeling lethargic and won't eat and just makes a mess with her food like this:

She's never been a messy eater but now she just licks her food and spits it out or most of the time she won't even touch it.  She did eat a little wet dog food (when mixed with cat food!), a little pancake and some ham yesterday.  Daddy also made cookies without chocolate chips so she could have some (actually, we all did!) and she liked those.  She turned her nose up at turkey, roast beef and even her favorite treats though so we don't know what's going on.  We've tried a lot of tricks (except baby food which Khyra just told us about) but hopefully we can find something that'll get her to eat.

A radiologist will look at the test results again tomorrow and the vet will call Daddy with a full report (because Mommy can't handle vet news - she's weird that way).  We're hoping to find something that we can fix instead of this big mystery of what is happening to her.

Thanks again for keeping her in your thoughts!

PeeS:  Another update:  The vet looked in her mouth while she was still sedated and didn't see anything causing her to have pain when eating but said that if she has an upset tummy she would act like something is bothering her mouth because she's not wanting to swallow the food.  We tried giving her Xantac but it made her throw up so we don't want to do that again!  We don't think she wants to do that again either!

Early Start on Sadieday and Some News...

I'm interrupting Mommy's Friday Features because I want to get a jump start on Sadieday.  Of course I think every day should be Sadieday!  Let's start this day off with a stroll.  Wanna come with me?  Well then, let's go!
Since it's Father's Day weekend, I brought my daddy along with me...
Of course I let him in on all the gossip I discover in the pee-mail along the way...
Some of my deer friends came out to greet us too...
I love strolling with my daddy...
Our stroll put a smile on my face and I hope our stroll put a smile on your face today too...
Okay, now I have some news to share with you.  When I had my surgery last month, my blood tests showed my kidney enzymes were high.  Well, I just had another test done to see if they got better but they are actually higher.  Usually scoring high on tests is a good thing but not in this case.  I haven't been feeling all that well or eating very much the past few days either so we're going to take some time off from the blog so I can rest and Mommy has time to be with me.  I am having an ultrasound thingy done on Monday so we'll let you know if there's any news but for now, I'd appreciate your prayers and crossed paws.

Thanks for understanding about our unexpected blogcation.

Enjoy your Sadieday and every day!
Sadie

Working Vacation

Our Grandma from Las Vegas is here this week so that means we're supposed to be lavished with attention all day long right?  Yeah, no.  We've had to snoopervise her and Mommy paint.  Can you believe that?
At least I can watch the Birdie Network on the big screen while keeping an eye on Grandma too of course...
I'm keeping my eye on the lower half of the room.  It may look like I'm nodding off on the job but that's because I'm a purrfessional and have great snoopervising skills...
See.  I only look like I'm napping but I'm just that good...
I bet I could get a closer look if I got up here...
Hey, you missed a spot...
All done.  It's finally time for relaxing and enjoying window whiffs...
It's also time for spoiling so bring it on Grandma!

We hope your day is relaxing!

Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday!  My most favorite day of the week!  Our Grandma from Las Vegas is visiting this week so I took it upon myself to make sure she was nice and comfy...
Yep, she was very comfy to me!

What special things do you do for guest at your house?

Hope you have a Happy Tortie Tuesday!

Priorities...

There's a very good reason why laundry didn't get done in our house this weekend...
At least the priorities are straight around here!

Do your needs come before chores at your house too?

Enjoy your Monday!
Angel

PeeS:  Our Grandma from Las Vegas is here this week so we may get behind on commenting while we're getting spoiled by her so we apologize in advance!  No apologies for the spoiling though - we deserve it!

Stoll with Sadie!

Yay it's Sadieday!  It's the bestest day of the week!  We had some rain today but that's not going to stop my stroll so grab your raincoat and let's go!
At least the rain makes everything all green and, uh, blue?
It also makes one of my most favorite thing about strolls...
Puddles!
I love puddles!  For some silly reason Mommy is trying to get me to pose but how can I possibly even hold still when I can see puddles right beside me?
Oh alright.  I guess she did come along on my stroll in the rain so I'll give her what she wants.
CHEESE!
Everybuddy should get what they want on Sadieday and I hope you sure do!

Enjoy your Sadieday and your weekend!
Sadie
