Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday but instead of giving advice today, I think I need some. Kitties, how do you handle an overprotective, worry-wart Mommy? I mean seriously, look at this...
And this is just Volume 1! You should see the size of the Volumes for our Noon and Night routines! We are being left in the care of neighbors and also a pet sitter but Mommy keeps having panic attacks thinking something is going to happen. The only thing that is going to happen is that the pet sitter won't even get halfway through her notes before Mommy gets back from Kansas!

Do you have any words of advice for me? How about any advice for my mommy on how not to worry so much?

Hope you have a non-stressful Tortie Tuesday!
Isabella

I'm afraid I have no advice in this area, Isabella (surprising, isn't it?)! My human is just as bad - and our pet sitter stays overnight too!

I worry so much too!! When I'm away I call home and double check with hubby or my FIL that everything is okay. I know I'm overprotective :)

Sorry, can't give any advice on this because I'm sure I'd be exactly the same way. I don't think I'd have quite as big an instruction book as that though. Hope the absolutely necessary points are highlighted because I'm sure no pet sitter will read the entire volumes.

I am afraid I do not have any good advice sweet Isabelle. I'm exactly the same way ~ although my notes are not quite as thick! haha!

But we know you will all make out just fine when mom is gone. Just make sure that pretty Christmas tree is all in one piece when she gets home. ;)

Hi Isabella! We have the same problem here with our mama...although we have to admit...the volumes are just a little thinner...but not much! BOL! Happy Tuesday!

No advice from us, Isabella...our mom writes books for the pet sitter too whenever she and dad-guy go away. She even writes long stuff for dad-guy when just she goes away!

I do the same thing, but once I'm on the road, I sort of "turn off" the house and leave it in God's hands. Then I imagine the kitties enjoying sitting on the counters, licking their butts on the kitchen table, taking a bath on the sofa--you know, all the places they are NOT supposed to be. And I realize that they are probably having a vacation too. :)

It's okay, Mommeh! Everyone will be FINE!

Big smile here Isabella. My mom is exactly like that..keeps in touch via phone, email and texting. And she wrote volumes too. I think our pawrents love us 100 or even 200%!!!!

Maybe doing face time on the mobile phone wiv yoor mommy whilst she is away, or Skype, would help?
But we know she will have arranged VERY good care for yoo. xx

Well, you already know our mom is OCD paranoid over US! So we're no help. The mom's actually trying a homeopathic anti-anxiety remedy at the moment, but says a couple of glasses of wine or a shot of whiskey works even better. Ha.

We have no advice because we know our Mom would be the same! The only great thing about over-protective mommies is you know they will give you lots of treats when they get home!

Leaving anything in the care of others let alone pets is very worrisome, I'm with you Shar. But when we have to board our little ones it is SO hard for me, but if you focus on that then you won't truly enjoy your time away. You just have to keep in the moment with what you're doing and trust that while they won't have you there they will still be taken care of!

Sorry, there is no way to make Mommy worry less - not gonna happen. Accept the love!

Woo. Isabella, I hate to break it to you, but I think it's totally a mommy thing and it's just ALWAYS going to happen. Because your mommy loves you very much.
Just my opinion!

Sorry Isabella. We can't help you with this. OUR Mom is a worry-wart as well...which is probably why she hasn't gone for a vacation in years...not that we are complaining. MOL.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice. It's tough being the mommy. One of the things that I worry about the most when I'm out of town is my Angel.

Maybe if you do the best that you can with the pet sitter, your mom won't worry as much next time she has to be gone.

The publicist usually just will leave the Farm cats with a big pile of food and two litter boxes for up to four days. Then she will have someone come in and check on them.

But she cannot leave any more because of us goats. Bwamaaahahaha

Oh my. Mommies can worry so much! My mommy is also going to Kansas for Christmas and she will worry a lot. It helps her to have daddy tell her fun things I am doing while they are away.

Hi Angel, Isabella and Sadie, this is SisseeLou.....advice? Well, I got nothing....the last time MY Mommy had to go away I was going to the Pet Hotel (great cot, tv in my room, playtime with the other pups and 2 snacks a day)....she took me to drop me off for a rockin' good weekend and started crying....then she took me right back home. She cancelled her trip and then tried to smother me all weekend...geez, get over it I told her....your Mommy will be fine, don't worry about her!

Sisseelou (have fun while she's away)!

Isabella, WE know you are a very self-sufficient kitty and it will probably be YOU taking care of the sitters! That is, you, Angel, and Sadie!

WE know that your mommy loves you so and would leave you only in the best of hands.

WE know that you will have a fun little vacation and be expecting lots of scritches and treats when she returns. Because of that, WE know that you will be on your very bestest behavior!

Just send her a text telling her all is well. Moms are like that, Isabella, ours would do the same thing. On different circumstances, we wish we could have met your Mom while she was here in Kansas.

Just tell them where the food and treats are and they'll be okay :)
Poor Harley is used to LOTS of treats, so when someone else cares for him, he's a little deprived...LOL :)
Tell your mommy everything will be okay...and to have safe travels!

Awww how sweet is your mommy! And I feel for her, I'd be the same. I hope she can enjoy her time away and somehow have trust in your sitters. Hard I know, but wish her luck for me!

I'm not one to give advice - my Mom is a worry wart too! I thought I was the only one with that problem. Ah well hope she gets home to you soon and sees everything is ok. Sending more hugs to your Mom! Love, Moon xoxo

♥ Sharla i know this is such a hard time for you and to be leaving your girls on top of it just makes it that much harder - sending you (((hugs))) and wishing you lots of Peace!!!

Isabella you and your comrade's be good!!! :)

it's hard to tell your mommy anything; she just has to experience being away from you all. And that's really a good thing for her! For you, I'd say call her, and tell her how well you're doing. {:-D

I don't think there is any way that you can make your mom worry less about her furbabies. You're just going to have to deal with it :)

I left a huge packet of instructions the first time I left my kitties with a pet sitter. She came really highly recommended and is also a licensed vet tech, so that helped, but she also knew how nervous I was, so she texted me pictures of the kitties while I was away. That was great, and really helped me worry less!
