Welcome back to this extended version of Sadieday! Yesterday we started our field trip on a forest trail and had crossed a very stable bridge across a normal creek. Today, we find a little more excitement and here's a hint of what's to come...
Yep, that's says suspension bridge and here it is...
Okay, just to let you know, my mommy is scared of heights and especially when not on steady ground but she braved it for me. It is a long way down and a long way across but let's get going.
We made the mistake of having Daddy walk on the bridge behind us cause Mommy says he made it sway (according to her it was like walking on Jell-o). Daddy denies doing anything but if you were on the central Oregon Coast recently and heard a loud scream - it was my Mommy on a swaying suspension bridge in the middle of the forest! Ha roo roo!
Making it across means we have to go back and remember that creek? Well, it drops off to make Drift Creek Falls. Wanna see Mommy what saw out of the corner of her eye while hurrying back across the long 240 ft (73.15 metres) bridge WITHOUT Daddy on the bridge at the same time?
After Daddy came across the bridge, she made him go back out to the middle to get a better photo of the 75 ft (22.86 metres) tall Drift Creek Falls...
After all the excitement of the bridge and falls, we hiked back up to the trail head...
and then I slept all the way home. We had a great field trip and I hope you enjoyed it too!

Enjoy your extended Sadieday!

You are such a brave puppy!! Our mum says there is no WAY she'd go on a bridge like that! (we would, of course)

Wow! This bridge looks even scarier than the last one.
Sadie, you are so brave!!!

ROTFROOROOingOL! Way to go "Daddy"!

Oops, sorry Sharla... ;o)

Do people swim "down there"? These photo's have amazed me, and changed my breathing. I think I must have lived like that in a past life.

Sadie, that is BEAUTIFUL! You are so lucky to get to go on such cool trips. But, I have to agree with your Mommy about the bridge. I have a problem with virtigo. . .so I don't like heights either.

Well Sadie both you and your Mom were very brave to go across that bridge. Our Mom is such a sissy, I don't know that she would have made it.
Too funny about Dad making the bridge sway. Sadie it is a good thing Mom had you to lead her across that scary bridge.
Have a great Sunday.

Well that was worth waiting for. What a beautiful sight. I know Daddy and I would have made him stay a block away from that bridge when I was crossing it.

Yikes! I don't do bridges either...especially that kind!!! Nice of your daddy to go get us such a beautiful photo :)

That was awesome, Sadie. Our Mom would have been afraid too, but we don't know if she would have been brave enough to cross it, especially if she had to come back again. Beautiful waterfall.

Sadie - you are a brave doggy!

It looks like a beautiful place to take a walk - Including the suspension bridge- although I just might run across with my eyes closed! lol!

You look like you had a blast, Sadie. Pretty falls!

Your Mom is right about your Dad making the bridge jiggle - she is a brave woman, and I am sure she did it all for you!

What a great adventure! Isn't it funny how humans are afraid of heights? I guess I would be too if I couldn't jump very far and I didn't know how to land, so maybe I can't blame them.

Lovely scenery Sadie. Thanks for sharing the photos from your Field Trip.

I don't blame your Mommy at all; I cannot stand hights and it is sometimes difficult to get on some step ladders. This makes it more challenging for me to paint:)

But what a beautiful photo of the fall. (water fall)

I'm with Mommy--I would be really scared going across that bridge. And Daddy is ROTTEN for shaking it!

Furkidsmom said... May 23, 2010 at 4:18 PM

That bridge looks pawsome but our Mom would be skeered since she's askeered of heights!! Our Dad would do the same thing yours did.

My Mom is afraid of heights too! I bet she wouldn't of made it across. I bet it's worth it for the view of those pretty falls! Love, Moon

What a beautiful view! I am a little scared of those bridges, too.

I love that bridge! I have to say that you were very brave to cross it. Thank you for taking us along on this field trip; it was a lot of fun. Oh, and thank you Sadie for being such a great tour guide :)

What a brave mom you have! That's a fun field trip, too. Missy only takes us to places like the doggie doctor. They're okay, but not as much fun as a moving path!

woofs to you!

Wowzers! I don't think my mom would be real keen on crossing that bridge. Or Ammy, for that matter!
What a beautiful place!
