Tortie Tuesday

It's Tortie Tuesday and today I thought I would tell you about my top secret Stealth skill! Let me start with a little background as to how I discovered this skill. First of all I am naturally mellow - nothing riles me up. I have my moments when I run from room to room like my tail is on fire but that's just to throw my beans off. I don't meow, I just squeak when I'm playing or looking for my Daddy. I also don't scratch at doors if I'm on the wrong side of them. I'll just sit and wait for someone to come open them up. These things combined has made me a natural Stealth - I'm patient, quiet and mellow. The most fun thing to use my Stealth abilities on is to combine them with my Tortie camouflage so my beans don't see me and they shut me in a closet.
I can sit in there as long as it takes for them to realize I'm missing (which usually isn't long) and I hear them calling me and frantically running through the house. My skills allow me to just sit and wait while listening to the chaos going on in the house. Eventually they'll open the door and I'll be sitting there and look at them like "What?".
My sisfur Angel doesn't have this skill - she's always meowing and you can hear her walking across the tile floors. Plus, she's always scratching to be let in or out of closed doors. Nope, I'm the only one is this family with this special skill!

Do you have stealthy skills? What games do you play on your beans?

Wow, that's a great talent. Neither of us have that skill. jane meows all the time (sometimes she just sits and mutters to herself) so she could never be quiet enough to hide. And I usually stay in whatever room my Momma is in. . . I don't like to be alone too much.

You are one great hidey seeky kitty Isabella!

I'm like that a little, Isabella. I'll hide somewhere like in the closet, somewhere where I don't usually go, and I hear my mom searching for me frantically. Then after awhile, I'll come out and look at her like "you looking for me??" like it's no big deal.

You sound like you have that skill purrfected!

Very good skill to have. Claudia will hide under the couch. But we know it is usually because she has been naughty and stole something and is chewing on it.

I like to play hide-n-seek with my mommie. Before she leaves the house, she always makes sure she knows where we are because on a couple occasions, I was in the closet and she didn't know it and shut the door! I do like to hide and listen to her calling me. Then after about 10 minutes, I sometimes will come out of hiding and sneak up behind her! That way she doesn't know my hiding place. There are lots of good places to hide in my house.

We think that might be a special Tortie skill because Deli is like too. She never panics.

You're so gorgeous being stealth, Isabella!

You're like my Newman - he can run and get in a closet without anyone seeing him. And then, of course, he gets locked in. His little mews aren't loud enough to hear, so it takes awhile before he gets discovered and released!

Sometimes I sneak down in the cellar where I'm not supposed to be! It's fun exploring but then I hear my Mom going crazy looking for me. Sometimes you just need some privacy, right Isabella? Love, Moon

She has that peeping with one eye down pretty well. James Bond may need a cat like that for super secret spy missions:)

Actually from a human stand point, that's not funny. We once had a very quiet cat, booby head got himself locked into a storage closet and even tho we called and called and even opened that closet door he never said word one - Scared the daylights out of us. Don't do that!

My Mom's cat lived to the great age of 22years. He did not really meow either--he made these squeaks like he was talking to her, silly cat. And before he got kicked out of the house to the enclosed patio and backyard(my allergies) we would find him laying on our shoes in the closets. In fact, he looked a lot like you, Isabella.

Oh.... REALLY cool, Isabella!
I think my peeps would notice if they shut me in a closet, but I do like to slip up onto the catwalk without anyone seeing me, then lay there reeeeeeeeal quietly when they start looking for me! Much like you and the closet. Oh, they can call me 'til the moo-moos come home, but I don't budge. I just lay there and watch them. Ha roo roo roo. It's great fun!

Hi Isabella, I am a Tortie too and I also squeek and do not meow and complain unless I want to go out at night. Then it is just a tiny little meow. I don't hide though. But I am outside a lot. You look so cute in that closet. And you do look very Stealth. Have a super day.

Nobody here is particularly stealthy, not even Binga, the tortie in the family. My human has a special noise she makes and it's so annoying that it brings Binga out from where ever she is hiding! And she does NOT want to be stealthy anyway - she always wants to be in the middle of the action, all the time. (She is kind of annoying.)

I think Harley needs a lesson in being stealth...LOL!
He hates a door being closed on him!

Sneaky kitty. Stinky the Farm cat does this too....

You ARE stealthy! Love the Peek~a~Boo pictures too. We're not all that stealthy. King bounds into a room, Skeeter is EXTREMELY vocal, Pandora and Cricket both are pains with closed doors.

That is a great skill, Isabella. Our human sister's kitty loved to sleep in the linen closet. Sometimes the humans would look and look for him and never find him because he was always tucked way down behind the towels.

Mom says TD is too heavy on his feet to be stealth, but that puppy is something else, she can move fast and she is really quiet when she wants to be.

You are a very talented cat Isabella. I don't know of any other cats who have your skills.

LOL, Arwen is NEVER quiet if she is locked anywhere, though she does have one stealth skill: stalking flies that land on our floors or windows. She will put her ears flat down, her tail straight out, and crouch, almost crawling, until she gets within striking distance. Then, POW! she strikes and eats the unsuspecting fly. It almost always works, though there was this one time the fly flew straight up her nose...she made the funniest face I've ever seen a dog make, until she could blow it out her nostril, where she caught it and killed it!

We are very impressed with your stealth skills! We don't have any - we are to boisterous to be stealthy!

Wow. How can you sit still that long.... well Lova does, but mostly she's asleep when she does that but not me I like to jump and open the doors buy my bean locks them now but I can jump up high enough to see her in the window when she is doing the dishes I like to make her laugh when I do that she laughs and other beans think I hyper, but I don't think so, do you. I do wish the doors weren't locked though I liked opening them.

hahaha! That's quite a skill!
I have a friend who had a cat who when hungry would lie on the floor perfectly posed between the pantry (where the food's kept) and the food bowl, and never, never say a word. This cat would patiently sit by a door till someone would happen along to let him in or out.
Earnest screams and paws. One must NEVER forget him! Oliver is much more patient.

If we play hide and seek I want you on MY side! What a great skill you have.

That's funny how you do that! My two goofs are loud--wayyyy loud. If they aren't meowing, they are knocking stuff over and scratching to get out of wherever they got stuck. Ugh.

Isabella - you're a kitty after my own heart! Yes, I'm mellow too, but don't know if I'd like to be shut in a closet or not... Hmmm. Now MJ, she's a pretty quiet soul too, but doesn't tiptoe across the wood floors... she pretty much doesn't like those...

And to hide even more, close your eyes. You blend in so well that it really makes them miss you. Then you get rewards when you are found.
