Friend, Foe or Food?

Whenever Mommy and Daddy go to the coast, they see lots of seagulls but so far have only brought home one seagull fevver and of course photos of them.
We never understood why they didn't bring home a seagull but then we heard that Milo Marshall told his little brofur Alfie the other day that seagulls are VISHUS and would eat him for dinner!
Milo was in the doghouse yesterday so it must not be true. We sure hope not cause they look very tasty friendly and since there's two of us, we can handle a little ol' seagull.
Okay, maybe they aren't so little but vishus? What do you think?

We don't have seagulls where I live, but there are lots at my grandma's place. They're hunters by nature and have GREAT eyesight...or so I hear from my little sisfur SUMI who watches them closely from the living room window. Not sure if they're 'vishus', but they sure are fast and strong!
I wouldn't mind meeting one ;-)

p.s. thanks for purring for me when I wasn't feeling well. Mommy says I'm stuck with the old food, but I do get REAL chicken every now and then. I told her it's a deal!

I think they ARE vishus! Momma told us a story about sitting in her car once eating fast food when a seagull landed on the hood of the car and kept beaking the windshield demanding french fries. I think it would have broken in the car if Momma hadn't fed him some fries. That sounds vishus to us!

Pee Ess LOVE the beach photos!

Yes I think you have to keep your eye on those Seagulls at all times. We are taking Claudia to the ocean in May. I want to see how she likes them.

I think I am jealous that your mom was taking pictures of seagulls and I was taking pictures of ice fishing yesterday! :( Please send me some sunshine! :)

The publicist is one of those strange people that likes seagulls. Especially Black Backed gulls. She thinks they are pretty. When she lived in NJ she would watch for the Laughing Gulls to get their hats back 'cause when that happened Spring was not far behind.

I don't know if they're vicious, but I get the feeling that they would probably not taste too good - like seawater and sand. Ick!

That last one is very handsome, but we hear they can be very nasty too. Did you get to play with the fevver?

I love watching the sea gulls but I have to admit that if you're out there at the beach and have food on you it can get a little scary with them all hovering over you

And be happy mommy & daddy only bring home the pics...'cuz they aren't as sweet as you might hope

They may be vicious, especially if threatened. I tell my kitties to be nice to the birdies because they'll poke them in the eyeballs if they are not careful.

They look very cute in the pictures, but we are sure Milo would never ever exaggerate or tease his brofur, so they must be vishus.

That seagull looks mean and vishus! But I bet if you shared some of your food with him he would be nicer! Love, Moon

I don't know about the vishus...but I do know birds are dirty and cats are clean--that decides it for me!

We dunno...we think those seagulls could be vishus if they wanted to be....

I saw many seagulls when I lived on the east coast. The most amusing ones were what some call Laughing Gulls. Their squawking actually sounds like laughing! It's really funny to witness them doing this.

For other folks (I refer to kitties and doggies as people) reading this, my blog has stories and information helpful for cat caretakers everywhere.

All you kitties stay well!

Mom said seagulls are nice as long as yoo don't have food in yoor hand. She said they will swoop and take it from you if they see it! In Sidmouth we have lots of seagulls and there are posters efurrywhere saying "DON'T FEED THE SEAGULLS" for a very good reason. 'Cos otherwise they associate yoo with a food suply and will swoop and PECK!

Yoo might like to see our poster and film abowt birds today ~ we've entered the Acatemy Awards!

Love alfie Marshall xx

Well.... I don't know. We don't have them here at the Kansas Ocean for some reason. I know I don't like pigeons! Are they like pigeons?
I guess the only thing I can be sure of is that Zim would make friends with one!

Ammy

Oh, I don't know if you really want to meet one. When I lived by the coast it felt like they were following and hovering always. And be very careful if you have food in your paws--they will try to take it!! But they are fun to look at even if from a distance:)

Speaking of large birds, my hubby gets very nervous when the hawk comes back to town--he wonders if small doggies and kitties will disappear. So you can never be too cautious, I think.
