Summer Scenes

Today we are going to share some summer scenes around our area. You'll notice a theme in that they all include birdies! So, sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery and we'll enjoy the birdies!

Mommy and Daddy went to the coast recently and saw this seagull at the jetty in Florence, OR with the Sand Dunes in the background. At a local grocery store, there are lots of ducks hanging around a small pond at the edge of the parking lot. These two got pretty close to the store though. There's a big pond on the campus of where our daddy works that has lots of ducks. Mommy made Daddy feed them some of the bread they got at the farmer's market when they came up to them. They know a sucker when they see one (or two)! It's a mama duck, Daisy, and her baby, Donald! Even we'll admit that Donald Duck is pretty cute! As for these birds, well, they're just along for the ride! Get it! Oh I just quack myself up! Hope you enjoyed these summer scenes all featuring our favorite birdies! Hopefully you get to see birdies in your neighborhood today too!

We loves looking at birdies too! And since we live at the edge of the woods we see lots and lots of them. But not ducks or seagulls! Those are cute.....wonder how they taste?

Aww, baby ducks are sooo cute! We woofies love to chase birds in the backyard, but so far we have been unsuccessful at any capture. The kitties have to pretend to chase through the windows.

Fun pictures! We have a lot of wild turkeys around our neighborhood, and I wish I would have had my camera last night. I saw a cat watching a mom with her babies...I could tell the cat knew better than to mess with that Mommy! I love Florence, too! We've had some great weekends there!
Thank you for stopping by my blog! Next time you go by our espresso shop, stop in and say hi! I'm there every afternoon.

I would be doing the same thing. I love to feed the ducks:) We have a few that visit us most every day. They come and eat from the bird feeder we have on the ground. About two weeks ago, I was teaching and I heard a knocking on the back door. I turned and looked, and there was the male duck peeking at me.

The cats loved the bird photos, but your pictures made we wish we had Safeway here (we had them in the DC area when I was growing up!) Isn't that boring :)?

We have a really nice duck pond on the Virginia Tech campus - it is even called "the Duck Pond", so I get to see a lot of ducks. People are VERY good about stopping for them in traffic, etc.

The local grocery store was built on a former nesting ground. So it is not unusual to see birds flying around the ceiling and landing on the rafters.
