Gotcha Day!

It was 8 years ago when Sadie became a part of our family! She was just about two months old on her Gotcha Day back in 2001.
As I've said before, she was rescued from a puppy mill type operation in January 2001 in Nebraska where my mom was living at the time. Sadie even was in the local news!
Soon after the court hearing allowing the rescued huskies to be adopted, another puppy mill raid filled up the humane society causing all but two of the huskies to be sent to other humane societies and rescue shelters throughout the region. One husky puppy went to a shelter employee and Sadie came to live with us!
Sadie loves to travel, go to the beach, go on hikes and she always guards her food and water bowl from the cats! She doesn't care for cuddling much, doesn't give kisses and hates to have her feet touched. Ever since she was a puppy, she squeals to no end when any woman with long blond hair tries to touch her. Thankfully I do not have blond hair!
We're very thankful to have Sadie in our family!

I really enjoyed reading more about Sadie's background. I'm so glad she found a wonderful home with you. She must have had a bad experience with a woman, who happened to have long blond hair! Sammy, my cat is very frightened of small children.

I love this post! **LOVE IT** I wish there were more rescue stories and less about puppy mills. All 3 of my girls were rescues. Dogs are suppose to be mans best friend. Happy Gotcha Day Sadie!

She's adorable! Looks like she has glasses on... and really looks like a wolf, though I'm a city girl, actually, so what do I know!

Sadie is beautiful! What a cute pup she was! I just want to love on her.

This would require I cute my hair and/or dye it. It would be totally worth it!

Sadie I can't believe it has been 8 years ago when I first picked you up at the humane society. Everyone there looking for a pet was jealous. One thing you did from the beginning that you have never stopped was your thinking you are a lap dog. You have the best home ever.

I love stories with happy endings. I admire you for all your work to save animals and raise awareness about puppy mills. I'll have to write about my cat's gotcha day in the Fall. I love my adopted pet too and I wouldn't trade him for anything!

Well hello Cutie!! All of my dogs have been rescues aswell, and i couldn't be more happyier to have them in my life. Puppy is 17 and wants nothing more than to sit in my lap. Jenny who is 2, is like a stubborn teenage who pretends she doesn't like cuddles, but look out when she lets her guard down :)

You make me miss the days when I could cuddle with furbabies. But since I want to live and not die of suffocation, I will live the thrill of pet ownership through you and the girls.
