It's coming together!

Work tends to get in the the way this time of year, being tax season and all, but our shop is still growing and getting more views every day although we are still waiting on that elusive first sale. Mom has been busy making bracelets and they are being put on our Etsy site slowly but surely. I make bracelets every chance I get but unfortunately those chances are few and far between until April 15th. One of these days we'll have our first sale, I just know it.

We went to the local humane society yesterday looking for cat furniture in their little shop and man were they busy! It's so good to see many people out looking to adopt homeless pets but it also reminds me that we need to educate people on the benefits of spaying and neutering so no animal is left without a loving home. Hence the entire purpose of our Etsy shop. We really want to raise funds to send to animal awareness causes to reduce the pet population as well as animal cruelty. I know we will in all due time.

We also joined Etsy for Animals to help raise awareness for animal causes. Their site is http://www.etsyforanimals.etsy.com/. Please visit to purchase great products donated by Etsy members which 100% will go to animal awareness causes. They also have a blog at http://etsyforanimals.blogspot.com/ so be sure to check it out also. Although we would love to sell our jewelry to everyone, our main objective is to help the animals so please patronize either our shop, http://beadedtail.etsy.com/ or the Etsy for Animals shop so the animals benefit.

Continue to check out our Etsy shop for new bracelets added periodically!

I did it!

I set up my own blog all by myself! Of course it wasn't that difficult but hey, I didn't know that before I started. Anyway, this blog is set up on behalf of my Etsy shop http://beadedtail.etsy.com/ which is where my mom and I sell jewelry to benefit animal awareness causes. We decided to put our love of beading to use to help our love of animals after hearing horrible news stories regarding animal cruelty issues and of course the overflowing shelters due to not enough people spaying and neutering their animals. Be sure to check us out and tell your animal loving friends so we can raise money for charity while you get to wear beautiful jewelry!

About BeadedTail

Hello! I'm Sharla and along with my two cats, Angel and Isabella, we welcome you to our blog! We hope you enjoy your visit and come back often!

In addition to this blog, I'm using my love of creating beaded jewelry for my shop on Etsy to benefit my love for animals. Each of my designs are one of a kind and most of them contain an animal theme from paw toggles to cat face beads or animal awareness ribbon charms or butterflies. I also welcome custom requests.

My items come from a smoke free, pet friendly environment.

I support animal organizations who help special needs animals such as senior pets or those with a disability. I also support those who do TNR (trap, neuter, return) for feral cats to reduce the homeless kitties without euthanization.

I have had pets literally all my life and currently my husband and I have two cats, Isabella and Angel, that we adopted from the humane society in 2006.  We lost our Husky named Sadie to cancer in June 2012 at age 11 1/2.  She was rescued from a puppy mill when she was just 4 weeks old and we adopted her at 8 weeks.  Our animals are a huge part of our lives and now live like royalty!

In addition to our current pets, we've had many wonderful pets that we've adopted from the humane society or had found abandoned so we certainly know that there is a great need for animal awareness education to prevent overpopulation, abused and homeless animals. I'm grateful to be able to sell my jewelry on Etsy in order to benefit animals.

We're making tails wag one bead at a time!
